Outcomes:
The experience was built to evaluate the key character traits crucial for success in the role. Specifically, for the Front Desk Manager position, the tasks focused on communication, patience, emotional intelligence, and adaptability. This tailored approach not only assesses job aptitude, but also provides insights into individual strengths or areas for improvement related to each specific position. Taking these insights into account, facilitators can then offer precise career guidance, directing job seekers toward roles that match their unique skill set and interests.
Benefits:
It is often difficult for an individual to choose a career path, especially if they are unfamiliar with the opportunities that exist. This VR experience gave job seekers the chance to perform a number of the duties that would be required as a Front Desk Manager for a hotel. It covered full customer service with the ability to affect the behavior of an AI character based upon the individual’s response to the interactions. The client was able to quickly see if the job seeker was a good candidate for this career.
