About this simulation
Participants step into the role of a professional carpenter, navigating realistic service scenarios designed to build practical skills and confidence. Upon entering the experience, users choose from five core tasks: measuring for a wall, wall assembly, window installation, door-trim installation, and concrete pad form setup. Highly detailed 3D models of tools, lumber, and work environments create an authentic jobsite atmosphere, while a narrator provides step-by-step guidance to support hands-on learning throughout each scenario.

What you'll experience
-
Measuring for a Wall
Participants begin by learning how to properly place and space studs to ensure structural integrity. The narrator demonstrates how to measure and mark lumber accurately, and users apply these instructions using a 3D tape measure and pencil for a tactile, true-to-life experience. After completing the guided portion, users finish the remaining measurements independently, reinforcing skill retention through practice.
-
Wall Assembly
Users take the lumber they measured and begin framing a wall. They position each piece according to their markings and secure the studs using a nail gun. With a chalk line, they then lay out the placement of additional supports and fasten them into place, gaining a clear understanding of proper wall-framing techniques.
-
Window Hanging
This scenario introduces a higher level of precision. Users learn how to plumb and level a window using a bubble level to ensure proper alignment. When the window is intentionally misaligned, participants must correct it by inserting shims — guided by the narrator's explanation of their purpose and placement. Once the window is properly adjusted, users secure it to the wall.
-
Installing Door Trim
Users measure, cut, and install trim around a doorway. After marking the trim according to the narrator's instructions, they operate a miter saw to make accurate angled cuts and position each piece correctly. When the installation is complete, their work is evaluated, providing feedback on precision and craftsmanship.
-
Concrete Pad Form Setup
For the final challenge, users construct a 4×4 ft. concrete pad form using the boards provided. With only minimal initial instruction, they must rely on the knowledge and techniques gained from previous tasks to complete the form independently, bringing together measurement, alignment, and assembly skills in one culminating exercise.
