About this simulation

Participants step into the role of a professional Welder and gain hands-on experience with essential industry practices. From safety checks and joint preparation to grinding and pre- and post-heating procedures, learners engage with true-to-life 3D equipment and environments designed to fully immerse them in the craft.

The experience opens with a guided introduction and an equipment table placed directly in front of the user, making the simulation approachable for individuals of any background or skill level. Throughout the training, strong emphasis is placed on proper safety protocols, reflecting the high-risk nature of welding and the importance of disciplined technique.

What you'll experience

  1. Test Weld

Participants begin by donning a virtual welding helmet that darkens their view to replicate real PPE. They are then instructed to pick up the electrode holder, insert an electrode rod, and test it on a metal sheet while receiving guidance on proper grip and technique. Users may retry or advance at their own pace, building confidence with this foundational skill. After completing the weld, they practice removing slag with a chipping hammer and finish by cleaning the weld with a wire brush to eliminate remaining debris and impurities.

  2. Welding a Flange

The chapter opens with an inspection of the fit-up, reinforcing the importance of preparation before any weld. Participants are then guided through a first-pass weld and repeat the familiar process of slag removal before moving on to the hot pass. As they weld, the narrator explains the purpose and significance of each step. This sequence continues through the fill pass and concludes with the cap pass, giving learners a complete, structured walkthrough of a multi-pass weld.

  3. Repairing a Crack

Before welding begins, users must prepare the damaged area by grinding a bevel into the crack and pre-heating it with a welding torch. They then perform a root pass, clean the weld, and continue through the hot, fill, and cap passes. This chapter reinforces the importance of proper preparation and technique when addressing real-world repair scenarios.
